Possible new game announcement from Bungie in July
Bungie Studios, developers of the Halo franchise, may be ready to reveal its unannounced new project, judging by their “Bungie Weekly Update” series on May 27, 2011.
In the post, community manager Eric Osborne apologized for a lack of fresh news, citing that he had his hands full in recent weeks.
“Yup, truth told we have been less and less active on Bungie.net as of late,” he wrote.
“Part of that is owed to my aforementioned travel arrangements, but a significant amount of my time is also now being dedicated to other upcoming endeavors that won’t make a splash on the front page until Bungie Day closes in around us.
“Unfortunately, that means there are just too many balls in the air for me to juggle without letting a few fall to the ground. More explicit details about those balls in the weeks ahead.”
“Bungie Day”— falling every year on July 7 — is when the studio celebrates its obsession for the number seven.
Although July 7 is more than a month away, Osbourne teased in the post that “breadcrumbs tucked away into the folds of Bungie.net that just might lead to something [Bungie artist Stosh has] been working on for a little bit now.”
Bungie has revealed close to nothing since its last release in Halo: Reach, but recent speculation has swirled around a science fiction massive-multiplayer online game codenamed “Destiny.”
Since Bungie’s merger with Activision, the developer can now make their titles multiplatform, so their next game may be for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 160GB and more.
