Top five games that need a HD remake

Playstation console

A lot of games from the past are being remade in HD. This brings back some of those timeless classics which most of you would have played while growing up. Classic games when remade in HD bring back life into these titles and meet today’s visual standards. Even though a lot of games have already have been remade in HD there are still a few out there which could do with a HD makeover on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 console or the PC platform. Here are the top 5 games which could use a HD remake.

Mortal Kombat

This one is a no-brainer. The first time this game came out it was one of the best that you could find. This was the definitive first fighting game which took Street fighter II and made it look ordinary. The legendary fights between Liu Kang and Shang Tsung are something that I wouldn’t mind playing in HD.

Donkey Kong Country

This title certainly needs no explaining. For those of you who remember this was the first Donkey Kong game which was not produced by Shigeru Miyamoto who happened to be the character’s original creator. This game went on to become the second best selling game on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System only behind Super Mario World. It would be great to see a high resolution version of this game which sticks to its roots created by developers Rare.

Duck Tales

Based on the television series which became so popular this game was quite entertaining at the time. Once again it was released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System by Capcom. Controlling Scrooge McDuck who happened to be the richest duck in the world in a quest for more treasure was fun. Better animation and HD uplift should see this game become extremely popular.

Twisted Metal

Demolition derbies weren’t quite as popular until this title came along on the PlayStation console back in 1995. But this game set standards and skyrocketed to fame. This game completely ignored the term racing and pitted you against up to eight cars and trucks loaded with military-grade weaponry for you to level. This game with revamped textures and multiplayer support could certainly do the trick once again.

System Shock

This “spiritual predecessor” to BioShock served as inspiration to titles such as Half-Life, Doom III, Metroid Prime, Resident Evil 4, and the Chronicles of Riddick. Not only did this game sell like crazy, but its characters like the evil female A.I. became one of the greatest female voiced villains during that time. A HD remake of this game would certainly be something a lot of people would look forward to.
