Nintendo has announced today four more new additions to its Nintendo Selects line of $20 bargain-priced games for the Nintendo Wii Console. The new additions include Mario Strikers Charged, Punch-Out, Super Mario Galaxy and Super Paper Mario. Each title will retail for $19.99 on August 28.

The Selects budget line of games can be picked out among the white Wii boxes on store shelves by its red package, similar to the PlayStation 3 Greatest Hits boxes. Selects were first introduced in May 2011 with the first batch of titles that included The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Mario Super Sluggers, and Wii Sports, which was once only available with the purchase of a Wii console.

Two of the three most top-rated Wii games — The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Super Mario Galaxy — are now available for $20 each. Super Mario Galaxy 2 would be the third of the three most top-rated Wii titles, but that has yet to be announced as an inclusion in the Selects line.

There are a lot of rumors going around the net that there is going to be a remake of GoldenEye 007. Screenshots have been leaked which does make it look like a HD remake of the 007 game for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

The rumored remake is said to be called supposedly called as GoldenEye Reloaded. Certain websites have indicated that the game is said to come out on the 28th of October 2011. Now whether this will be a disc-based release or a digital download via Xbox LIVE or PSN is left to be seen. Last year the GoldenEye 007 for the Wii was pretty good and its multiplayer modes were pretty interesting. Now the Nintendo Wii is not known for its online capabilities so the port to the PSN and Xbox LIVE should make things better. Should the game come out the multiplayer mode should make good use of your PS3 and Xbox 360 headsets.

Previously it was thought developers RARE last year were in the process of releasing GoldenEye on Xbox LIVE, but in the end we got ourselves only the revamped Wii version. This time things look a little more convincing and we should expect to hear something within a few weeks about the official release date for GoldenEye Reloaded if that’s what it’s called.

The game is a team-based fighter along the lines of the Capcom versus series and features over 100 demons. You make use of your fighters’ “Osore” which are a number of skills that the demons use. The game will support four player cooperative and competitive online play, as well as an original story mode for single players.

The game is due for release on the PS3 and Xbox 360 on November 17, priced at ¥6,980 making it the perfect excuse to bust out your Xbox 360 wireless headset if you own a Japanese 360.

Developer Riot games released a new trailer that shows off the new capture and hold mode dubbed Dominion coming soon to the free-to-play League of Legends, according to the video game website Shacknews. The trailer featured a mix of gameplay segments with behind-the-scenes chat from employees at Riot Games. The new mode is proposed to give players more condensed bursts of League of Legends.

“Veteran League of Legends players will really love Dominion because it really boils down the best elements of the game they already know and love into a short and intense 20-minute gameplay session,” according to Riot president Marc Merrill.

Dominion is played on a new map with five control points for each of the two teams to fight over. Rounds are estimated to take 10 to 20 minutes, wherein players power up faster, can buy end-game items quicker, and dying faster and more frequently but respawning faster as well.

Quests to complete can be had on top of that, which project lead designer Richard Hough says “break up the flow” and incentivize alternate strategies. For instance, players may be offered a “large reward” for holding two specific capture points.

There’s no set date when Dominion mode will launch.

Currently, League of Legends is for PC and Mac only, and not for current platforms such as the Xbox 360 system.

Now that’s something you don’t see quite often! Nintendo hardly ever cuts prices of their handheld products; especially within its first year. But starting August 12th 2011 you can have the world’s only handheld 3D gaming device for $170.

So what actually triggered the $80 drop in prices? Well in simple words, the Nintendo 3DS just didn’t sell. First off the $250 price tag was a little too steep for a handheld gaming device with games which costing in the region of $40. Think about it, you could get a 4GB Xbox 360 or a Nintendo Wii console for $200. One more thing that probably has hampered the Nintendo 3DS sales would be the fact that there aren’t many titles out yet. Sales could pick up sometime next year once there are sufficient titles which can attract customers. Games such as Star Fox 64 3D, Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, and Kid Icarus: Uprising are all coming out by the end which should help the 3DS sales figures.

The initial sales figures indicated that Nintendo sold close to 1 million 3DS units in America, which compared to the DS family seems very low. The $80 reduction in price is not only in America, but also in Australia, Europe and Japan as well proportionate to their currencies. Now a lot might think that he 3DS might have failed to live up to the hype considering the price reduction, but it could have been Nintendo cashing in on the launch as well.

The sequel to the critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham Asylum is set to come out on the 18th of October 2011. The game is set to come out on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC platforms. It’s been speculated that a Wii U version will be announced next year though. The interesting piece of news here would be that there will be a collector’s edition of this game.

The collector’s edition will be available on the same day the game is set to release in limited quantities. Now this collector’s edition has quite a bit of stuff for the $99 price tag it carries. This edition features a custom Batman statue produced by Kotobukiya which would look stunning when placed next to your Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 Slim. It also includes a collectible art book, as well as an early access to the Iceberg Lounge Challenge Map. This edition also contains the official Batman: The Dark Knight Returns skin and the Batman: Arkham City album from WaterTower Music, which includes the original songs by hit artists which are available via digital redemption records. And that’s not all, you also get four DC Universe collectible cards and the animated original movie in Batman: Gotham Knight.

For $99 that seems like a pretty good deal for those of you who like this game. Remember this is a limited collector’s edition, so you should get your hands on it while supplies last!

With Steins; Gate and Chaos; Head being praised by fans and critics of visual novels/gal games for its great production values, engaging storylines and memorable characters, 5pb looks to continue its success by releasing their newest visual novel title, Robotics; Notes across multiple platforms.

Set in the year 2019 on the Japanese island of Tanegashima, the game is currently being described as an “augmented science adventure” revolving around robots and the question of “what would happen if you really tried to make a giant robot?”

Players will assume the role of Kaito Yashiyo, a fan of fighting games, who finds out that one of the game’s main female protagonists is a programmer who created the game engine behind a renowned fighting game. Kaito decides that he wants to create a giant robot that is based around command inputs and motion technology and decides to look for someone at the school’s karate club (more than likely a female) to perform the motion capture sequences.

The upcoming visual novel title is due for release in Spring 2012, although it was revealed several months ago as the next entry into 5pb’s science-themed adventure games. Japanese-literate Xbox 360 owners who want to play the game will need to import it, as well as a Japanese 360, while Sony fans who own just about any 160gb PlayStation 3 unit can play it on their units.

Catherine is already developer Atlus’ biggest launch title ever one week after release, according to the video game website IGN. Atlus shipped the most units at launch — 200,000 to be exact — for any Atlus game in the company’s history.

“Catherine has exceeded our highest expectations,” said Tim Pivnicny, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Atlus, in a statement given to IGN. “It released last week to tremendous critical acclaim and fan response, bolstered by the release of a demo a couple weeks prior, and continues to generate discussion among fans for its mature themes, engrossing subject matter, and frantic, challenging gameplay.

Pinvincy said it’s appropriate that the puzzle title is the biggest launch in the publisher’s history.

“It is fitting, then, that Catherine can boast the largest launch in the 20-year history of Atlus, and continues to see strong sales at retail.”

Atlus did not provide IGN with exact sales figures at the time. Catherine hit North American store shelves on July 26 for PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 system.
